The Recycle Station, located in New Buffalo Township at the old State Police Post, 1 block south of the intersection at Red Arrow Highway and Route 12 has a new look for the new year. A 2-sided, blue recycle bin with clear recycling instructions is now in place. Recyclers simply drive up to the bin, read the instructions, and deposit their accepted recyclables in to the portals on either side of the bin. This Recycle Station is open all year to Berrien County residents. Each week the recycle bin will be taken away for 1 hour to be emptied. More frequent pick-ups will be scheduled during busier summer months.
Items that are accepted at the Recycling Drop-Off Station are:
- metal cans
- milk & juice cartons
- plastic bottles/jugs/tubs
- glass bottles and jars
- newpaper and inserts
- cardboard
- brown paper bags
- magazines, catalogs
- mixed paper and boxboard
- Styrofoam & Foam Blocks
- Appliances & Furniture
- Any Other Type of Trash
