Supervisor Conway called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.                                          Call to Order

Also present were: Rahm, Steinke, & Braden.

Zabicki absent.

Rahm moved, Steinke seconded to approve the bills as presented;                                 Bills

General Fund $47,202.16; Building Fund $18,500.53; Liquor Fund $387.54;

Sewer Fund $19,768.17; Water Fund $39,095.89; Ambulance $8,888.67

Conway moved, Braden seconded to approve the minutes of the                                   Minutes

August 18th, 2003 Regular Meeting, September 5th, 2003 Special Meeting.

Rahm moved, Conway seconded to approve Assessor Caryl Rabe to proceed  Principle

With the Principle Residence Requirements for collecting unpaid back taxes       Residence

For illegal Principle Residence formerly known as Non-Homesteads. Fee

to be split 1/2 & ½ on the penalties. Township pays postage, not millage

or extra help.

Tabled approving updating the “Poverty Exemption” forms.        

 

Rahm moved, Steinke seconded to authorize the assessor to attend a 2 day                   Assessor

Certification to be licensed in “Personal Property Tax Auditing”. All out of         Training

Pocket expenses to be paid for by the Township. Registration fee $150.00.

Steinke moved, Conway seconded to approve two landfill passes per resident   Landfill Passes

In New Buffalo Township for the month of October 2003..

Steinke moved, Braden seconded to approve the Special Land Use Permit as   SLU Grand Beach

Recommended by the New Buffalo Township Planning Commission and the      Motel

Berrien County Planning Commission, for Bruce, Barbara & Bret Barickman,

To allow 4 cabins for lodging adjacent to the Grand Beach Motel at 19189

US 12, New Buffalo.
